"I enjoyed the women only atmosphere. My wellbeing was definitely helped and stabilised by having something to look forward to, but in a relaxed way without the pressure."
access support, advice & resources
While we are not able to use our building due to Covid some of these activities are more limited
At the Women's Centre you can access peer support around a huge variety of issues: counselling to support healing and engage in personal development through our women's groups and library. If you're looking for specialist support around violence against women and particularly domestic and sexual violence/abuse visit our partner service RISE Cardiff.
Wellbeing
Due to Covid we are not able to offer the drop in at the Women's Centre but we'll soon be back so keep an eye on the website. Join us on-line.
Feminist library
Our women's library is stocked with an abundance of books, primarily by female authors. You can find resources that deal with healing and trauma. Our library will be back open as soon as it is safe to do so.
Wellbeing Drop In
Whilst we can't provide an in-person coffee drop in session, we currently run our online Wellbeing Cafe workshop. It is a virtual space for women to come together and take time for themselves.
Group Work
Group work can be a powerful way for women to build confidence whilst meeting new people who have been through similar experiences.
Info Hub
Our information hub is designed to encourage women to gain strength, feel empowered and ready to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of trauma. Our information hub is a complementary support system for those going through our services.
Counselling
We offer a range of counselling services, from our Phoenix group run by qualified IDVA's, a recovery toolkit, and a counselling service ran by volunteer counsellors.
Women's Centre online
Due to Covid restriction we are delivering all our activities, including our survivor network, solely online using our online platforms.
We are also about to launch our mobile app which will also offer more social connections and access to more information and advice.
