“I really enjoy your classes and thank you for making these facilities available and for your work in general for a very worthy cause… It’s good to be able to participate but not be judged! It is really helping me to restore my confidence and self-esteem.”
Our groups, workshops & events
While we are not able to use our building due to Covid some of these activities are more limited - but we are very active online
creative writing
Express yourself and connect with other women in a safe and supportive environment. Our creative classes range from drawing workshops to creative writing, and are available to all women regardless of your artistic level.
Physical Classes
Our physical classes are a great, safe space to get you moving. From fun and upbeat fitness classes, to working on your strength and flexibility in Tai Chi. All women are welcome, regardless of fitness levels or previous experience.
Mindfulness Sessions
Mindfulness is important to help regulate our emotions and decrease our stresses. Our mindfulness sessions will give you the space to observe your thoughts and emotions.
therapeutic Sessions
We offer therapeutic workshops such as gardening and baking. Gardening and baking are beneficial as they are calming activities that allow us to be nurturers, as well as keeping us connected to other living things. They also encourage acts of patience, and give us a creative outlet.
Women's Library
Our women's library, primarily, is full of resources by, for and about women. Angela Saini (science journalist) who donated generously stated: "There is nothing like seeing your own experiences and feelings reflected back at you in a book. This is why, for me, representation in publishing matters."
Matriarchive
Women reading women! Join us for our multimedia book club, exploring women's literature from page to screen. Even if you don't have time to read a book each month, we'd love for you to join us for a chat about the film adaptation.
Peer Support Groups
It's important to have a confidential and safe space with survivors who have faced similar experiences, to help motivate and showcase that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Our survivor-led and trauma-informed peer support groups include: a domestic abuse group, a sexual violence group, a 40+ group, an abuse in the family group, a mental health group and an all women group - but we are still expanding.
Online Survivor Forum
Peer support can help make those big steps towards recovery easier. Our online survivor network brings together women with lived experience to connect, heal, and support each other.
Mobile App
Use our app to connect with other women in Cardiff, and find out what's going on in your local area. Our app has an abundance of resources that focus on personal development, wellbeing and activism.
Women's Centre online
Due to Covid restriction we are delivering all our activities, including our survivor network, solely online using our online platforms.
We are also about to launch our mobile app which will also offer more social connections and access to more information and advice.
